Los Angeles, California – Screenwriter and director Celeste Thorson premiered “YOGAPHILES” an indie sitcom about a quirky class of L.A. students that take life, love and yoga a little too seriously. YOGAPHILES features a diverse cast of actors of Asian, African American and Hispanic descent. The series explores pop culture, health, fitness, LGBT, ethnicity, sex and love.
“I feel like most people who do yoga have a great sense of humor and appreciation for life.” said director Celeste Thorson. “I’m so inspired by the physicality of yoga, it’s fun to showcase it in a sitcom through the eyes of these eccentric characters.”
YOGAPHILES follows a group of regular students that attend a weekly beginner class in Los Angeles. Between their opinions, personalities, new teachers and guest stars, friction is hard to avoid even at the most zen yoga studio in L.A.
